Construction has started!

Getting started: Digging the hole.

The frigit -28 temperatures didn't stop these guys this morning as they started digging the hole. The ground is still partially frozen and then there are those nasty rocks that Martensville is so famous for.

The construction will start with the auditorium expansion at the back of the church near the alley. This is the smaller part of the building project that will extend the exisiting building by 20'.

The gas line had to be moved so SaskEnergy came and asked the backhoe driver to turn off the machine. That was all the machine could take of this cold weather and it refused to start again. But by just after lunch, it received a new starter and they were back at the job.
George & Marty, our builders, happy to get started.

Last picture around 4:30 pm.

4:40 ... he's still going... sounds like the wall is coming in!
I think I'll just go home now.

Yaaaay! I can't believe it came so fast.

It sure makes preparing for a sermon more dramatic...

... "BOOOM!"
